What happens if rain doesn’t stop?

If rain persists, the final will move to the reserve day — Monday, November 3. Tournament officials will, however, make every effort to start the match today and resume it tomorrow if required. If no play is possible today or tomorrow, the trophy will be shared between the two finalists.

What does the weather forecast say?

As per the latest forecast, there’s a 25–50% chance of rain throughout the day. High humidity and variable cloud cover could cause stop-start conditions. The temperature is expected to hover around 34°C during the day, dropping to 25°C at night.

Rules

The ICC has made provisions to ensure a fair result. A reserve day has been set aside, and if rain interrupts play today, officials will attempt to complete the match on the same day — even with reduced overs. As per ICC rules, both teams must face at least 20 overs each for a result. If that’s not possible, the match will continue from the exact point where it stopped on the reserve day.

Here’s how it works:

If rain halts play today, the match resumes from the same point on Monday. If the game is shortened and halted again, the reduced overs will carry over to the next day.If rain washes out both days, India and South Africa will share the trophy — a first in Women’s World Cup history. With both teams chasing their maiden title and a record crowd expected, the stakes couldn’t be higher. Harmanpreet Kaur’s side, coming off a thrilling semi-final win over seven-time champions Australia, will hope the weather gods stay kind in Navi Mumbai. For now, all eyes are on the skies as cricket, rain, and destiny collide in this much-awaited final.
