BENGALURU: Amid growing friction within the Congress over the Karnataka chief minister’s chair — widely seen as a tug-of-war between CM Siddaramaiah and his deputy DK Shivakumar — the BJP has seized the moment to mock the ruling party.Referring to the ongoing speculation of a leadership change as “November Revolution,” the BJP on Tuesday released a spoof video on X, portraying a game of musical chairs featuring Siddaramaiah, Shivakumar, Satish Jarkiholi, and G Parameshwara. The satirical clip was captioned, “Countdown to November Revolution begins,” taking aim at what the BJP calls the Congress’s “power struggle disguised as governance.”

Just two days ago, Siddaramaiah had dismissed remarks by some party functionaries suggesting that Shivakumar might take over as CM in November. “We must all obey the party high command. I will continue as chief minister for five years,” he said in Mysuru on Wednesday.Speculations are rife about a change of guard in the state when the Congress government reaches the halfway mark of its five-year term in November, referred to by some as the “November revolution”.Meanwhile, supporters of DK Shivakumar continue to push for him to be given an opportunity to head the government, citing his role in strengthening the party. There has been speculation within state’s political circles, especially in the ruling Congress, for some time now about a potential change in CM later this year, linked to a power-sharing agreement between incumbent Siddaramaiah and D K Shivakumar.
