Former NBA star Delonte West has landed himself in hot water. Reportedly, the Dallas Mavericks alum was found unconscious and not breathing in Fairfax County, Virginia, recently. According to the latest update by media outlet TMZ on Delonte West’s case, he was administered the life-saving narcotic drug Narcan before he was handcuffed and arrested. As reported by the Fairfax County Police Department, the 42-year-old former NBA star was found by a random person in VirginiaAccording to an update provided by media outlet TMZ, Delonte West was breathing when the cops and EMS arrived. He was also given an opioid antagonist, naloxone spray, which quickly reverses the effects of opioids in an overdose situation. Reportedly, the former Dallas Mavericks star even refused a ride to the hospital, where he was being sent for a medical checkup.

Officers arrived at the spot located in between Richmond Highway and Fair Haven Avenue with EMS and were even taking him to the hospital, but he refused. According to TMZ, he was heavily intoxicated and was arrested for his own safety. However, after repeatedly refusing to go to the hospital, Delonte West was taken into custody for resisting arrest without force and public intoxication before he was put into a local jail. Post NBA fame, reality looks way different in comparison to what they say. However, this was not the first time Delonte West made headlines for the wrong reason. Almost a year back in November 2024, he was booked for trespassing. Reportedly, he had returned to an area where he was banned from on November 1, 2024, which led to a warrant against him. Delonte West, a former NBA player who spent eight seasons in the league, has faced repeated legal troubles over the years. His post-basketball life has been marked by struggles with substance abuse and periods of homelessness, reflecting a difficult journey far removed from his days on the professional basketball court.
