NEW DELHI: RJD leader and Mahagathbandhan’s chief ministerial face Tejashwi Yadav celebrated his 36th birthday on Sunday with party workers and supporters in Rohtas — just days before Bihar votes in the final phase of the assembly elections. At a spirited rally in Dinara, Tejashwi turned the occasion into a political pitch. “Today is also my birthday. I only seek your blessings, love, and strength so that we can uproot this dishonest government,” he told the crowd, drawing loud cheers. The RJD leader promised voters a “return gift” if his alliance comes to power.Birthday wishes poured in from across the INDIA bloc. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi posted a photo of the two from their Voter Adhikar Yatra, writing, “Happy Birthday Tejashwi Yadav ji! May you be happy and healthy — we will ensure change, employment, equality, and progress for the people of Bihar.”Samajwadi Party supremo Akhilesh Yadav also lauded Tejashwi’s growing popularity, saying, “The camera is capturing where the real public support lies. Bihar is going to get a new, young chief minister with new energy.”Even his estranged brother Tej Pratap Yadav, despite his differences, extended birthday wishes while also claiming there was a threat to his own life. “My security has been increased because there is a threat to my life. People will get me killed… It’s Tejashwi’s birthday and I give him my best wishes. Hope he has a bright future. He has my blessings,” he said.
