‘Do you ever stop to ask yourself?’: SNL tears into ICE after fatal shooting of ICU nurse in Minneapolis

Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update brought its signature blend of irreverence and reality this weekend — slamming Immigration and Customs Enforcement just hours after another fatal shooting involving federal immigration agents shook Minneapolis. In a segment that felt part comedy routine, part social commentary, co-host Michael Che commented on ICE and Vice President JD Vance.“I get that ICE agents are people…allegedly…and they have a job to do, but at some point while you’re pepper-spraying old ladies or shooting at a nurse, do you ever stop to ask yourself, ‘Are we *****?'” Michael Che said. The jokes landed against a backdrop of genuine outrage over the killing of a 37-year-old ICU nurse by Border Patrol officers during an ongoing crackdown.
