YouTube TV is reportedly giving $20 monthly discount to select users for four months

Google is reportedly giving a 20% discount to select YouTube TV users in the US, reports 9to5Google. The discount is being handed out for four months, translating to a total of $80 off on the service. However, the discount is not available to everyone and appears to be offered at random. As per the report, some users on Reddit and X (formerly Twitter) have said they spotted the offer directly in their YouTube TV account settings, without receiving any prior notification from Google.

How to check if you are eligible for $20 discount

Users who want to check if they are eligible can visit their YouTube TV subscription settings on a desktop browser and select the “Manage” option. If the offer is available, a button showing the $20-per-month discount will appear. If not, there is currently no clear way to request or activate the offer manually. This isn’t the first time YouTube TV has issued credits during a content blackout. In 2022, subscribers received a $15 credit after a similar dispute temporarily removed Disney programming.Last year, YouTube compensated its subscribers with a $20 credit following a prolonged blackout of Disney-owned channels, including ESPN, ABC, FX, and National Geographic, which were unavailable since October 31, 2025 due to a contract dispute between YouTube and Disney. The blackout then stemmed from a pricing disagreement. YouTube TV claims Disney demanded higher rates, while Disney argues that YouTube is refusing to pay fair market value for its content. The standoff left millions of subscribers without access to key live sports and entertainment programming for over a week. The platform then confirmed that affected subscribers will receive a $20 credit applied to their next billing cycle. Emails with instructions on how to claim the credit are currently being sent out. The company emphasized that it is working to resolve the dispute and restore Disney channels “within hours” once a new agreement is reached.
