Four men, including three of Indian origin, have been charged in connection with an alleged armed home invasion in North Vancouver (Municipality in Canada) earlier this month, police said. The incident took place on February 5 near Dollar Road and Dollarton Highway. According to investigators, the suspects were armed and forcibly entered a residence and held a 45-year-old man hostage inside his home. These include: one count of robbery with a firearm, one count of break and enter, one count of unlawful confinement, one count of possession of a loaded restricted or prohibited firearm, and one count of assault with a weapon.

As a precaution, an elementary school in the area was briefly placed under lockdown while officers dealt with the situation. The arrests were carried out on the same day as the incident by the response team.In a statement released last week, police said suspects had “forcibly entered a residence and unlawfully confined a 45-year-old man” before officers intervened. An update issued on Monday confirmed that formal charges had now been laid against all four men.All of the accused remain in custody and are awaiting a bail hearing. Police have not released further details about the motive behind the alleged attack or the relationship between the suspects and the victim.
