What is Corteo?
“Corteo,” which means “cortege” in Italian, tells the story of a clown who imagines his own funeral as a joyful, carnival-like celebration watched over by angels. The production moves between heaven and earth, blending comedy, emotion and fantasy. The show features world-class acrobats, aerial performers, contortionists and musicians, combining athletic precision with theatrical storytelling. Unlike traditional circuses, there are no animal acts. Instead, the production relies on choreography, lighting, elaborate costumes and a live musical score to create a visually immersive experience.Corteo is one of Cirque du Soleil’s longest-running arena shows and has toured internationally across North America, Europe and Asia before arriving in Doha.
