Veteran CPI leader R Nallakannu passes away in Chennai at the age of 101

NEW DELHI: Veteran CPI leader R Nallakannu passed away on Wednesday at the age of 101, hospital authorities said.Nallakannu was admitted to Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital’s ICU on February 1. He suffered from multi-organ failure on Wednesday and was placed on life support. His condition detoriated on Monday.“He was not able to tolerate treatment and his condition deteriorated further on Wednesday,” a release from the hospital said.
