Kannada star Yash’s ambitious film, ‘Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups,’ has been rescheduled to June 4, 2026. The postponement, attributed to Middle East tensions impacting global reach, ensures the movie avoids a clash with ‘Dhurandhar 2.’ This gangster action drama, co-written by Yash and Geetu Mohandas, is set in Goa and features a prominent female cast.

Kannada star Yash’s highly awaited film, ‘Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups,’ has been officially postponed. The film, set to hit the silver screen, has now been pushed due to ongoing tensions in the Middle East.

New release date

The makers announced via their social media handle that the movie will be released on June 4, 2026. With this change, the movie will also avoid a big box office clash with Ranveer Singh starrer ‘Dhurandhar 2,’ directed by Aditya Dhar.

Why the delay?

Explaining the reason for the delay, Yash mentioned that the movie, shot in both English and Kannada, is meant to connect globally. Due to uncertainty in the Middle East, their release plans were affected, as the region is an important market. Hence, the makers decided to postpone the release.

“‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups’ is a film we conceptualized with the vision to create cinema for a global audience. Filmed in Kannada and English, it is built with the conviction to connect with viewers both at home and across the world. After years of dedicated labour, we were excited to share our film with you all on 19th of March. However, the current uncertainty, especially in the Middle East, has created a situation that impacts our goal to reach and connect with the widest possible audience. Therefore, in the interest of our partners and our audience, we have made the difficult but carefully considered decision to reschedule our release. We thank you for your understanding and patience and look forward to your continued love and support,” he wrote.“‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups’ will now be released in cinemas across the globe in English and Indian languages on 4th June 2026. See you at the movies,” he added.

About ‘Toxic’

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, ‘Toxic’ is a gangster action drama. The story is set in Goa and spans from the early 1940s to the 1970s. Yash and Geetu Mohandas co-wrote it.The film features a female cast, including Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth in key roles.
