BENGALURU: A delivery worker associated with Blinkit has been arrested in Bengaluru after allegedly assaulting a customer during a dispute over a delivery address, police said. The incident took place around 2am on March 7 at an apartment complex in the city’s Koramangala area. Police identified the accused as Tanush, a delivery executive from Ejipura. According to a police complaint, the customer, identified as Paul J Vithayathil, had placed an order through the Blinkit app and was expecting the delivery at his flat. Police said the delivery executive allegedly went to the wrong location in the building while attempting to complete the order. When the customer contacted him and asked him to come to the correct floor, a verbal argument reportedly broke out between the two. The delivery worker later approached the customer’s residence, where the dispute escalated, police said. During the confrontation, the delivery executive allegedly punched the customer in the face, threw the ordered items and fled the spot. The injured customer later sought medical treatment. Doctors conducted examinations, including an X-ray of the nasal bones, which confirmed that he had sustained a fracture to his nose. Based on the complaint and medical findings, police registered a case and later arrested the accused.
