Emerson Jr, who missed last season after tearing his Achilles, is on a visit with the Texans, source said\u2026\u201d<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"8\"\/><span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"10\"\/>Ian Rapoport of NFL Network added, \u201cEmerson was heading into a contract year after starting 27 games for Cleveland before his injury. <!-- -->Now a potential addition in Houston.\u201d<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"15\"\/>While this has sparked a debate among fans, neither the Houston Texans nor the former Cleveland Browns\u2019 star player, Martin Emerson Jr. has reacted to the speculations yet.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"17\"\/>The 25 year old cornerback, Martin Emerson Jr., has experienced a few tough moments on the field in the last few seasons.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"19\"\/>Back in the 2023 season, Martin Emerson Jr. recorded an impressive performance as he finished the season with 59 combined tackles (45 solo), 14 pass deflections, and four interceptions in 16 games and 12 starts.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"22\"\/>But in 2024, his performance saw a sharp decline with 82 combined tackles (62 solo) as he had five pass deflections with 15 starts.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"24\"\/>As per Pro Football Focus, Martin Emerson Jr.\u2019s overall grade fell from 65.3 in 2023 to 47.9 in 2024.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"26\"\/>To make matters worse, the former Cleveland Browns\u2019 star player, Martin Emerson Jr., ended up missing the 2025 season as he sustained a brutal ACL tear during training camp in July 2025.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"28\"\/>A few months ago, Martin Emerson Jr. reflected on his performances in the last few seasons as he said, \u201cI feel like there\u2019s a lot more in the tank, honestly,\u201d he said. \u201cI feel like I haven\u2019t reached my full potential. It\u2019s a year.
