JioHotstar outage: Users report of issues with app and streaming, what the company has to say

JioHotstar appears to be experiencing a service disruption, with numerous users reporting access issues. Complaints flooded X (formerly Twitter), with many users unable to access basic functions on the streaming platform. Downdetector, the website that tracks outages, shows less than a few hundred reports affecting app, streaming and server connection.Reports indicate a number of distinct errors, signaling a potentially widespread problem. Several users reported that the search icon had vanished from the JioHotstar app. One user noted, “What happened to Jio Hotstar??? Just two buttons (Home and sports), and no search button and many things gone missing.”Others stated they encountered the generic “Something went wrong” error message when attempting to access content.Independent checks by The Times of India tech team confirmed some accessibility issues, however, most of the members were able to login and stream videos on both app and desktop.

Jio confirms JioHotar outage but says issue is resolved

Replying to a bunch of posts on X, JioHotstar’s service handle said, “Hi! Due to some unforeseen technical issue, some of our users may have issues while streaming content or accessing the platform. Appreciate your patience while we work to resolve the issue. We regret the inconvenience caused.”In a separate tweet, the company also confirmed that the issue has been resolved.“Hi! The issue was temporary and has been resolved now. Please try accessing the app again. If the issue persists, please let us know. Happy streaming!” the handle said.However, latest posts on social media suggests that a section of people are still experiencing problems with the streaming platform.
