‘A’ certificate marks Ranveer Singh’s adult-rated debut in 15 years

‘Dhurandhar’ has been granted an ‘A’ certificate, marking it as Singh’s first adult-rated film in 15 years. During the certification process, the filmmakers were instructed to include a Hindi voiceover disclaimer, which led to an extended disclaimer duration. Additionally, anti-drug and anti-smoking messages were inserted during scenes where characters use addictive substances. Some violent visuals were altered or reduced, a minister’s character name was modified, and a profanity was muted. The makers also added music and extra scenes during the end credits to finalize the film for release.

Violent scenes revised and additional credits added

The opening sequences featuring violence were excised and swapped with toned-down visuals. In the film’s second half, CBFC examiners directed the team to dial back graphic violent content. The minister character’s name underwent a fitting revision, a single expletive was silenced, and the end credits gained new music plus supplementary footage.
