NEW DELHI: A 4-year-old girl was kidnapped and allegedly assaulted sexually in Narela on Wednesday. Police arrested the accused in the case. He was identified as Rizwan, 25, a resident of Bawana. Police received a PCR call around 5:34pm on Dec 3 regarding the sexual assault of a minor in Bawana. “The minor was found crying and bleeding from her private parts. She was shifted to SRHC Hospital for medical examination and later referred to BSA Hospital for further treatment. It was revealed that the accused allegedly sexually assaulted the girl after locking the room from inside,” said DCP (Outer North) Hareshwar V Swami.A case under sections of kidnapping, rape and Pocso Act was registered. Rizwan told police that he was roaming in the area under the influence of alcohol. He saw the minor girl alone and took her to an empty room nearby, where he committed the alleged act. The accused admitted that he locked the room from inside to avoid interruption.The girl was not known to the suspect prior to the incident, the police said. On Wednesday, the girl’s teacher noticed that she had not arrived at the expected time for her lessons. Concerned about her absence, the teacher began searching the surrounding area. During the search, one of the students reportedly heard her crying from the second floor of a nearby building.The teacher, along with several others, rushed to the location and found the girl and the suspect. The girl was rescued, while the accused was thrashed by a group of people before a call was made to the police. Police are conducting an inquiry to determine whether the suspect may have been involved in similar incidents in the past and if there are any other victims.
