NEW DELHI: Baroda’s wicketkeeper-batsman Amit Passi made history by equaling the world record for the highest individual score on T20 debut, smashing 114 runs off 55 balls against Services in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025. He maintained his momentum to reach his maiden T20 hundred in 44 deliveries, capped with his ninth six of the innings.

His 114-run effort matched the record set by Pakistan’s Bilal Asif in 2015 for the highest T20 debut score. Passi also became the third Indian male cricketer to score a T20 century on debut.Thanks to his explosive knock, Baroda posted a formidable 220/5 in 20 overs in their final league match, providing a bright ending to their campaign despite already being eliminated from Super League contention.The innings also placed Passi in elite T20 debut company.
