NEW DELHI: A 27-year-old student of Delhi University was stabbed to death allegedly by his uncle and other relatives in south Delhi’s Sangam Vihar on Friday.Police apprehended two people, including the victim’s aunt and a 15-year-old relative. Preliminary findings suggest that the incident stemmed from a dispute over keeping the area around the house clean. The victim, a first-year LLB student, is said to have intervened after an argument between his mother and the aunt escalated.A PCR call was received around 11.30am, following which a police team reached the spot and found the student injured. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival. According to a senior officer, both families live close to each other. The victim’s mother owns a buffalo and she often had disagreements with her sister-in-law over cow dung lying near the house.The argument intensified on Friday, following which the DU student stepped in. His aunt allegedly called her husband, son and a minor to the spot. During the scuffle that followed, the youth was stabbed. Police said they were searching for two more people.The victim’s sister said her mother was speaking to a neighbour about waste near the house when the aunt allegedly began abusing her. She added that her brother first took their mother inside but was attacked when he stepped out again. “One person held my brother from behind and another stabbed him,” she claimed.
